A: There are several resources in the plan that focuses on Inwood and the Sherman Creek area. Currently the overall lead organization with offices in the community is the Audubon Partnership for Economic Development. See Community Profiles section of this resource (www.cd12-plan.net) for a description of the role of this organization in leading planning efforts.
This part of the community will be significantly affected by a proposed rezoning of the area east of 10th Avenue. Please visit www.nyc.gov/planning for detailed information in the <Projects> link of this website.
Q: Can our Organization have a workspace on this website?
A: Yes. The resources of the plan's wesite are extensive and build on technology that aids small groups of people to work on projects by sharing information, editing and writing documents, and building a network communications system. We will be please to introduce your organization to this resource for its own use and to provide a place for your organization to contribute to the CD12 Plan.
The issues addressed in the plan are long term and to the degree possible the content of the plan is developed to define problems, assess threats and prevent damage to the quality of life residents regardless of economic status.
This website is an extention of a CD12 "neighborhood plan and land use study" implemented by the Manhattan's Community District 12 as provided for in the New York City Charter provisions governing the roles and responsibilities of community boards. It is within this limitation of legal authority for planning that all organizations, businesses and individuals are invited to participate.
